The Skidaway Hamiltons are pleased to present Chatham County District Attorney Shalena Cook Jones as their speaker for their May program.
Ms. Jones is the first African-American female to occupy this elected office. As the county’s top prosecutor, she entered office faced with a high caseload attendant with the COVID-19 pandemic. She will talk about the organization and functioning of the DA office, especially since taking office in January 2021. She will discuss her priorities and initiatives as well as comment on the legislative process surrounding those initiatives.
Vaccinated Hamiltons and Abigails members attending in-person, will be asked to show proof of vaccination (either a card or a photo of your card on your phone). In addition, masks will be optional throughout the meeting. For those who are not vaccinated or unable to attend for any other reason, we are offering an option of participating by Zoom.
